Hoz Compton born 11.8.44 in Lima, Peru South America. Age 18 was granted "majority" by Judge Snowden in Miami, Fl. (at that time 21 was the legal age) Having learned printing in early Coral Gables High School, purchased first printing press at age 15, Purchased two printing companies (Faulkner Printing, and Little River Printing and Offset at age 18, having established Compton Printing in Miami and Hialeah. National clients. Moved us and business to Lake Placid age 20 and continued pr... inting. Sold at age 29 and retired. Became youngest Bank Director in Florida at 29 at First Bank of Lake Placid, and served 25 plus years. Later elected to Board of Heartland National Bank and served 18 years, 10 as Audit Chairman. From the 60's until 1986 raced hydroplanes in the Pro Division of the American Powerboat Association, nationwide. 3 World Records, 13 National High Point Championships, Silver Medal in the World Championships 1982. Started H.L. Compton Co aka Compton Homes and built several hundred homes in the Lake Placid, Fl. area, and warehouses and stores in the '70's and '80's. Started Compton Realty ( Later Century 21 Compton Realty). In 2005 was #1 in Sales nationwide for Century 21 with $90 million plus in sales, #3 worldwide. Industrial, Commercial, Mitigation specialties. Even sold a mine to ALICO! National and International clients. Business partner with Debbie McCullough for over 20 years. We are both at Paradise Real Estate. Laurie Slade, owner of First Insurance of Lake Placid, is my life partner. We live in an old Barracks on Lake June that was moved here from Hendricks Field in 1947. YES, it was an old Barracks. We are also active in the Kausay Wasi Clinic in Coya, Peru (Sacred Valley) where I serve as a Director. I have been active in Cleft Palate missions in Peru for over 50 years. Laurie and I split our time between Lake Placid, and our home in Lamay, Peru just up the road from the Clinic. (half way between Cusco and Machu Pichu).
